Coleman Fremont 4 Person Tent

The Coleman Fremont 4 person family tent provides a lot of living space with a detachable porch. Sleeping is in two bedrooms.

The Coleman Fremont 4 is a great tent if you want lots of living space.

Berths: 4 Person Tent | Rooms: 2 bedrooms and a large living area

Coleman is discontinuing the Fremont in 2013. You can see pictures of the replacement Coleman MacKenzie Cabin here.

The good news, of course, is that you may be able to pick up a Fremont for an even better price.

Our Opinion

Each sleeping area in the Coleman Fremont 4 is only really wide enough for a double camping air bed (which are smaller than the double bed at home).  However, what the Fremont lacks in the sleeping area it makes up for in living space.

For parents with one or two kids, this may be ideal.

The living area is very light and would make an ideal place for eating or playing games if it’s too wet or cold outside.

If you don’t want such a large living area or need to reduce the amount you take to camp, then the front porch area can be unzipped and detached.

The Fremont is part of their Premium Family Tent collection.

Alternatives to the Coleman Fremont 4?

If you like the Fremont but need more sleeping rooms you are in luck, as Coleman also have a 6 person and 8 person version.

Hey there, after a bit of research regarding the Coleman Fremont 4 I kept coming across your website! So after a look around you’ve helped us a lot with our questions. we do however have a question you could maybe answer better than the Coleman website. We are looking at adding and awning/side or front porch to extend the tent. Do you know of any options? We see the new cook 4 have a zip on extension would this also fit the Fremont? Thank s in advance. ( we contacte coleman but was unable to help, they only offered the classic awning as an option. After further research we found that people had leakage problems based on the fact it was cloth on cloth.) all help appreciated! ?

      Hi Bex,

I would look out for a second hand Coleman Classic Awning. This will go over the side door of the Freemont.
I don’t believe the newer Coleman zip-on awnings will fit the Freemont.
