Haldon is a 3,500-acre woodland that’s only a 15-minute drive from Exeter, with walking routes, cycle trails, bike hire, BBQ area, picnic area and kids play area, there’s plenty to do for a day out with the kids.
Go Ape TreeTop Adventure
This is a chance for younger kids to experience a high-ropes adventure course and takes about an hour.
This one even includes a Tarzan Swing and a 73-metre zip wire.
Note that your child has to be at least 1 metre tall. It’s open to all ages, but please check with the course instructors for children under 4 years old.
An adult can supervise up to two children under 6 if they go on the course with them, and up to eight children aged 6 to 15 years on while on the ground.
Note that on this course children are harnessed in all the way around. There’s no need to clip and unclip between obstacles.
Go Ape TreeTop Challenge
This is the large high-ropes course at Haldon, with views of Dartmoor while you take on tricky crossings, including a high-up log balance, and then ride across the valley on a 200-metre zip wire!
Children must be at least aged 10 and 1.4 metres high. An adult can supervise up to 2 children that are aged between 10 and 15 years old if they go on the course with them. Children from the ages 16 and up can supervise themselves.
Allow 2-3 hours to complete this course. It can take longer to complete when it is busy as there is a limit on the number of people allowed on an obstacle at one time.
