  • Good ventilation with bug mesh on all entrances and windows.
  • Good layout, including some storage space and a hanging rail.
  • The tent felt well made and good quality.
CONS:
  • Steel poles, although strong, can make pitching heavy and don't always slide apart easily when putting the tent away.
  • It doesn't have a great 'rain-safe' entrance, but you can use something like the Coleman Classic Awning for that.

  • The Bear Lake 6E tent has a great layout for family camping. The large sheltered porch is a real plus. You also get the new Ambassador bedrooms and the new Taslon fabric.
CONS:
  • Not got anything bad to say about it really, though do consider the weight of this tent when pitching and transporting to the campsite. It will need at least two of you to pitch. There is an inflatable alternative option.

  • A strong gust of wind took the tent down before I had finished pitching it and we lost a few groundsheet anchors in the process, but otherwise, the quality of this tent has been very good.

The Coleman Da Gama 6 has 3 double bedrooms, a good sized living area, and a well designed rain-resistant tent entrance. A good choice for families. We tested this tent in a very bad storm.

  • A good-sized affordable steel frame tent that you can use for weekend camping or for family camping holidays (especially with the addition of the Da Gama extension).
CONS:
  • Not too many bad points with this tent. The Hydrostatic Head is only 3000mm, but we found no problem with this despite being in a thunderstorm with torrential rain.

The Coleman Da Gama 5 sleeps 5 people in two bedrooms, making a good sized tent for Mum & Dad and two kids. It has a great designed rain entrance.
