Our Review

Robens is best known for the innovated lightweight adventure camping gear. But they've been turning their design skills to some items that are great for family car camping.

One of those items is the Robens Colonist Chair.

The Robens Colonist Chair

The Colonist Chair is a full-size seat but is incredibly lightweight, weighing in at just less than 3.3kg. That's not bad for such a large and sturdy chair.

We've reviewed the Robens Pioneer chair before, and the Colonist doesn't fold up as small as that. However, it does fold down to a good size to fit in your car boot, camping trailer, or even a roof box. When folded it is 54 x 48 x 15 cm.

When folded, it even has a carry handle!

With it being lightweight and easy to carry, you might find the Colonist easy to take on picnics or events such as air shows.

To unfold, you pull up the handles and move the slider on one of the chair legs until it clicks into place.

The chair can take up to 120kg in weight, so for such a lightweight chair, it is quite sturdy.

Another of the little features of this chair is the mesh panel in the back that helps with breathability, which is just what you need if you are sitting in a chair on a warm day.

Verdict

This is another great product from Robens that can work just as well for Family Campers as Adventure Campers. The Pioneer gets the GOWTK Thumbs Up award.
