Our Review

The Robens Cabin 600 is an ideal tent for 2 adults and 2 children who like to get away camping at the weekend, spring, summer, or autumn.

Robens Cabin 600 Adventure Tent 2013

The Robens Cabin 600 is tent with a lot of character. If you ever wanted to have a "cabin by the lake", then this is the tent for you.

Stepping away from the more usual tent designs, the Robens Cabin 600 is, well, Cabin-like.

Robens Cabin 600 Tent Layout and Dimensions

When you get down to it though, it is actually an easy to pitch tunnel tent design with some clever design that braces the structure together, making it a very sturdy tent.

Inside the tent has two sleeping compartments arranged in a two and three person, though Robens say if you remove the divider you can sleep 6.

We recommend this tent as being ideal for 2 adults and 2 children.

The living area is not as big as some other tents, but you do get a good front canopy to protect the tent door from bad weather.  And at only around 20kg, this makes a great tent weekend or for short break camping.

With its rugged build, 5000mm hydrostatic head, and storm entrance, the Robens Cabin 600 is great for getting away in spring and autumn too.

Alternatives

There are not many tents's have this compact design in this shape.  Something that may come close is the Easy Camp Boston 600, but you won't get that same 'cabin' design.

Robens also make this in a smaller version, the Robens Cabin 300, but that's going to be too small for most families.

If you like poly-cotton, then there's the Robens Vista 600 Outback Tent, which is essentially the same as the Robens Cabin 600 but with a flysheet that is 65% cotton and 35% polyester.  Polycotton tents are warmer in the cooler months as they insulate a little better than standard polyester tents.

Who Are Robens?

You may not have come across Robens, with their main market being Germany.  They produce a lot of smaller tents that are ideal for backpacking, and so their name isn't often seen when looking for family tents.

Robens is part of the same group as Outwell and Easy Camp, and so you can expect the same level of quality and attention to good tent design as those other brands.
