The Outwell Collaps Water Carrier holds 12 litres of water, yet folds down to just 8.5 cm high so it won’t take up lots of space in your car boot.
For years we’ve used this large plastic water carrier.
It holds 10 litres of water, is very rugged, and has been to a great many campsites.
There’s one problem: it’s quite bulky to take.
Trying the new Outwell Collaps Water Carrier
Of course, a simple answer is to take a folding water carrier. There are plenty of those available. However, some can develop leaks where they are repeatedly folded. Some don’t stand up too well. We like to keep a tap available on one of our camping tables, like in the picture above, and so a water carrier that can be left standing is a must for us.
Enter the new (and improved) Outwell Collaps water carrier.
This holds more water than our current water carrier. It’s also more comfortable to carry when full, with a rounded handle built into the lid.
And, of course, it collapses down to take up much less space when transporting.
Tap Issues – Fixed
This is not Outwell’s first version of the Collaps water carrier. Previous versions of this model had issues with the tap that could break.
The tap still sticks out, so you need to be careful of it when transporting the water carrier. However, it is now a new and more rugged design. So far, we’ve not experienced any problems with it. Though it’s not been through lots of camping trips yet. If we find problems later, we’ll update this article.
There are other collapsing water carriers around. However, the material on this one from Outwell feels thick and rugged that I’m sure will last the test of time.
From what we’ve seen so far, we’re giving it the Thumbs Up.
- Takes up less space for transport.
- More rugged than other collapsible water carriers.
- Easy carry handle.
- Tap sticks out when folded, so be careful of it when packing it in the car.
