Our Review

The Outwell Sunhill 5 Air packs a lot into its size and price and is a great family tent for short breaks or families with smaller children.

Built-in Porch

A big thumbs-up 👍 for this tent is the built-in porch.

If it rains while you are camping (and this is the UK, so more than likely), then this porch is invaluable.

It provides a rain-safe way to get in and out of your tent so that you don't get rain inside your tent and onto your tent carpet.

It's also somewhere to leave muddy boots, wet coats, and bring chairs in out of the rain.

Even if it isn't raining, the porch is a great place to sit sheltered from a breeze.

The new J-Door

I really like the new J-Door design on the new Outwell tents.

It turns your tent into a little mobile cabin 😀

On a very practical note, you can fold down the groundsheet here, peg it down, and you have a no-trip entrance.

This is especially useful if you have toddlers.... and adults too 🤣

Inside the Tent

The living space in this tent is good, but not massive. If you are planning a long family camping holiday, you'll want to scale up to a bigger tent for more furniture space.

However, for short stays there's enough space for some storage furniture and room to get the kids changed.

If you are camping with an Electric Hook-Up, the Outwell Stonehill 5 Air has cable entry points on both sides of the tent. This makes things much easier at the campsite.

There's also an electric power cable entry into the bedroom.

The Bedrooms

This tent has two bedrooms. Both are longer than 'standard' tent bedrooms, at 220 cm.

There is a larger 'three person' bedroom and a smaller 'two-person' one.

However, you can also roll up the divider and make one larger family bedroom, giving you plenty of space for different sleeping arrangements.

This tent also has the excellent Quick and Quiet doors into the bedrooms.

Other Practicalities

There's good ventilation throughout, all protected with bug mesh.

And all the guy lines can be wrapped up and put away in special guy-line holders. This really helps when pitching the next time around, as you don't have to untangle all the guylines, saving you precious time at the campsite.

I recommend you also get the matching Outwell Cosy Carpet for the inner part of the tent.

The carpet will make the tent much warmer and a home from home.

I also recommend you get the Outwell HookTrack accessory as this allows you to hang lanterns and other items in the precise position you want them.
