Our Review

I've noticed that Outwell comes out with more innovations each year to make camping feel more like home.

We've tested some great sleeping bags that open up like duvets.

This year, we have the new Outwell Constellation Duvets, and Outwell sent us the Outwell Constellation Duvet Lux XL version, along with a few related items, to try out 😁

The Duvet

Yes, this is a duvet. It even has a tog rating of 12.

However, it's not like a duvet you get at home. It uses sleeping-bag technology that makes it ideal for camping.

First off, the duvet comes with a travel bag. This bag has compression straps to help you squish it up so it takes up less space in your car.

Unsquised, the pack size is around 50 x 40 x 18 cm.

Opening the travel bag and you immediately notice the soft cotton fabric finish. This does not feel like a plastic sleeping bag!

The Lux XL version is a luxurious large size for a single bed, coming in at a generous 140 cm wide.

This will provide enough material to make you snug if the weather gets colder. It's rated as ideal for 3-4 seasons, so it can keep you nice and warm.

Oh, and it's also washable.

We had the large Lux XL duvet, but you can get it in different sizes.

I've listed the RRPs at the time of writing. Of course, you can shop around and usually get them cheaper than the RRP.

The Constellation Pillow

There's a matching Outwell Constellation Pillow to complete that home-from-home set-up.

Like the Constellation Duvet, the Constellation Pillow has a travel bag (42 x 15 cm).

This pillow squashes up small, so when you take it out of the bag, the pillow feels quite flat. However, give the pillow a good rub, and the Isofill Premium filling expands.

It's not a thick pillow, but Shell found it worked well in the camp bed.

The Fitted Sheet

Yes, that's correct. You can get now get a fitted sheet for your Self Inflating Mat!

And once fitted, your SIM is transformed from a camping mat to a bed mattress, especially if you use the large and excellent Outwell Dreamboat SIM.

You can get the fitted sheet in different sizes. We used the Single XL on the Outwell Dreamboat 16cm.
