I first saw this new Outwell Canella Supreme Sleeping Bag at Outwell's 2020 launch event.
What really struck me about this sleeping bag, was that despite it being rated for three seasons (that is, OK to use from Spring through to Autumn), the size of the sleeping bag when packed was incredibly small.
Yes, you can get warm sleeping bags that pack even smaller, but they are even more expensive high-end sleeping bags for backpacking, which tend to be mummy shaped.
The Outwell Canella Supreme is rectangular shaped and quite large. All the things you would expect for a comfortable car camping trip.

Outwell Canella Supreme Sleeping Bag Review
First off, and I have to mention it again, I am really impressed with the pack size, which is just 25 cm long and 21 cm wide. That's not going to take up a lot of space in the car's boot.
I also really like these Outwell sleeping bag cases, with compression straps and a hood, making it easy to squash the bag down small and keep it clean.
The pack size is extremely small for this type of sleeping bag, coming in at just 21 x 25 cm.
The Outwell Canella Supreme is rated as a three-season sleeping bag.
After getting the bag out, the next thing I was really impressed with was the zip.
Often sleeping bag zips can snag on the material. We didn't find this the case with the Canella Supreme.
Inside the sleeping bag, Outwell has included an additional insulated flap to cover the zip. This helps keep warmth in the bag and not escape through the zip.
The zip is designed not to snag on the material, and we all found this to be the case. Plus, there is an additional insulating flap to avoid heat loss through the zip when the temperature is cold.
On the outside of the sleeping bag, the Forest Green coloured material is smooth. Inside, the brushed polyester has a cotton feel. You can also find a small pocket on the inside of the bag.

You can unzip the sleeping bag all the way around so that you can use it as a duvet in the warm summer months.
In the colder months, you can draw the bag in around your shoulders so that heat stays inside, and you can also draw in the hood around your head.
The zip can be fully opened up. You can also get a right-hand side or left-hand side opening.
Verdict
This is another excellent product from Outwell, and I'm glad they sent us one to review.
It's not a cheap sleeping bag, and you can find more comfortable ones. However, the real winning feature of this bag is having something that will keep you warm through the camping season, yet not require a lot of space when getting it to the campsite.
It gets the Thumbs Up Award.
