Outwell has designed another great family tent with the Outwell Avondale 6PA.

The Outwell Avondale 6PA is a large family tent, which can sleep 6 people in three bedrooms.

We think this tent is ideal for family holidays for two adults and two or three children.

We recommend a tent this size is probably better used for family holidays rather than just single-night camping at the weekend.

The three bedrooms at the back of the tent are slightly longer than standard tent bedrooms, coming in at 215 cm long.

Although each bedroom sleeps 2 people, the middle bedroom is slightly wider and so ideal for mum and data. This bedroom also has an excellent Outwell Quick & Quiet magnetic door.

The bedroom dividers can be unzipped and rolled away if you want to create an even larger bedroom. Unzipping the dividers is also useful if you need to get to young children at night.

One of the bedrooms has a power cable entry point, which can be useful if you want to run powered lanterns or charge your phone in your bedroom.

The main living area is a very good size, with plenty of space for storage furniture, which is just what you need for family camping holidays.

And when the sun does shine and it gets warm, the living area also has two large side doors to help keep the tent cool. These doors can be rolled to the side, but the entrance can still be blocked by bug mesh, letting plenty of cooler air into the tent, but not the bugs.

On the large main entrance door, you’ll also find bug mesh there too.

The entrance is great for families, providing a rain-safe shelter to get in and out of the tent.  Leave wet and muddy shoes under the porch and invest in the matching tent carpet for the living space. It will really make your tent homely and warmer underfoot than without carpet.

Pitching the Tent

The tent is inflatable with 4 tubes to inflate, and a support tent pole for the porch.

Outwell provide their excellent Outwell Cyclone pump, which comes with a pressure gauge, to help you get the correct pressure into the tubes.

The tent does weigh just over 30kg, so you’ll need at least two of you to pitch this.

Pitching is made further easier with the colour-coded Outwell Pegging System.

And when you have finished and deflated the tent, it has easy velcro guyline tidies, which make things a lot easier the next time you take your tent camping 🙂

If you do have an accident with an air tube, it can be repaired with a patch.   Outwell also provide colour-coded replacement tubes. Use the diagram below to see which replacement tube to get.

The Outwell Avondale 6PA is another solid family-friendly tent from Outwell. At this size, the tent is best used as a large family holiday tent for a family of four or five. And yes, a tent this big is expensive, but the Outwell Avondale 6PA saves on a few features of the more expensive tents to bring the price down.

  • A great size tent for family holidays.
  • A rain-safe porch entrance.
  • Bug mesh on all doors, including the two extra side doors it has.
  • Darkened bedrooms.
  • Large tinted privacy windows.
  • Toggle up blinds.
  • Tents this large are heavy.
  • This is not the heaviest of large Outwell tents but at 30.4kg, and a tent bag about 1 metre long, you will need two people to move it.
