The Outwell Airville 6SA is a large family tent ideal for taking your kids on holiday.
Review Score
Our Score: 9.3/10
The good
- Lots of living space with flexible options for arranging your tent. This is great for family holidays.
- Large darkened bedrooms with Quick and Quiet entrance.
- Bug mesh door.
- Easy pitching.
- Good hydrostatic head.
The not so good
- Personally, I think the dividing screen between the bedrooms could be thicker, but this is only a minor preference.
- I also think this tent a little too large if you just camp for one night. You will want to spend a few nights to make the most of it.

Our Review
When you take your family on holiday in a tent, plenty of space is always essential.
You need space for bags, clothes, food, games and activities. Things to keep everyone happy, whatever happens with the weather.
We've found smaller tents are ideal for just a night or two, but for longer stays, having space for everything makes a big difference.
And space is certainly what you get with the Outwell Airville 6SA.
If your family fits in two bedrooms, this tent is a great option for your family camping holiday. You can fit out the tent so it's your holiday home, where you can live comfortably. Let's look at some of the features.

Front Porch
The Outwell Airville 6SA has three zones: the front porch zone, the living zone, and the sleeping zone.
The main zipped door on the Airville, which contains large privacy windows, can completely enclose the front porch area. The large privacy windows mean you have great views, but people can't easily peer into your tent.
Of course, these windows come with blinds to completely cover them at night.
In addition to the windowed door, the front has a bug mesh that allows you to have the door wide open, and still keeping the bugs out. This is great for summer, providing a good through-draft in the tent.

The porch area is a good size. Here you have the option of either laying a groundsheet or leaving the ground exposed.
With two additional doors on this tent, you have the option of not using the front of the tent as a door. If this is the case, you will want to place the provided groundsheet on the floor, extending the living area even further.
Alternatively, with the groundsheet up, the area makes a great wet-dry zone, that's a great place to leave wet muddy boots and raincoats so that any water simply drains away into the ground.

An example of using the interior of the Outwell Airville 6SA. Note that the divider between the porch area and the living area is rolled up in this photo, and the groundsheet is down in the porch area.
The Main Living Space
Internal doors separate the porch zone with the main living zone, so if you do have the porch opened up, you can still have another set of doors to separate the semi-outside area of the porch with the interior of the tent. Alternatively, you can unzip and roll back this set of doors to make one big open space in the tent.
Note also that this area of the tent is accessible and completely flat. Some tents have a lip on the bottom of the doorway, which makes it easy to trip. Outwell have completely removed this trip hazard, making it much safer and more comfortable.
The Wing Lounge that comes out the side of the tent makes the main living zone on the Airville even bigger.

This Wing Lounge makes a great place for a seat or more storage, getting clothes and other items out of the way.
The large privacy window in the Wing Lounge unzips, making this a great alternative entrance to the tent.

The living area is big enough for a table for four people, and the porch is long enough for one of the Outwell kitchen tables for food prep and storage.
Around the living space, you'll also find the Outwell HookTrack system.

The Bedrooms
The Outwell Airville 6SA has two bedrooms, both designed to accommodate three people. Though in practice, we think this tent is best for Mum, Dad, and a couple of kids.
The bedrooms are dark and have the fantastic Quick and Quite magnetic doors and are deep too, with minimal slope at the back, so if you like using camp beds, then they'll fit fine in this tent.

There are handy pockets in the bedrooms, and a large vent at the back to help keep condensation down.
Plus, there's a cable entry point, which is ideal for charging your phone at night.
Pitching
Like many tents these days, the Outwell Airville 6SA is inflatable. This means you won't have to worry about tent poles when pitching. Simply inflate the air tubes.
You can find Outwell's pitching instructions here.
Verdict
I had a really good look at this tent at a 2020 season launch event, and also again at the 2020 Caravan, Camping, and Motorhome Show and are very impressed with it. If you are a family of four or five, and looking for a big holiday tent, then I don't think you can go wrong in choosing the Outwell Airville 6SA.
