Lifeventure Thermal Mug Review – Recommended small flask
£9.99
This ‘Thermal Mug’ has been brilliant. Cheap. Different colours. Stays warm for hours. Holds about a large cup of tea or coffee. Read more…
We’ve bought and used Lifeventure Thermal Mugs for years. Our recommended small flask for that cup of tea of coffee…
A few years ago we saw the Lifeventure Thermal Mug (I don’t know why they call it that – it’s a flask!) in Cotswold Outdoor and bought one. Now we have a set of 3 (UPDATE: 4!), with the first ones looking a little battered and scraped, but still doing the job.

The Lifeventure Thermal Mug – a perfect size to fit in your bag
These flasks have been EVERYWHERE. From hiking up mountains (well one: Snowdon – plus many very big hills!), through exploring forests, to days out at historic buildings, to a refreshing drink while queuing for rides at theme parks, and to even travelling abroad. Oh, and taken to work every week!
Having tried numerous flasks over the years, these thermal mugs have been the best yet for individual drinks, and have stayed warm for hours. They are such a good size to easily slip into bags or use in the car.
We now have one for mum (tea), one for dad (coffee), and one for our daughter (hot chocolate – if she’s lucky).
They hold about as much as a large cup of tea or coffee (300 ml), and they also have a compartment in the lid if you wish to carry sugar, sweeteners, etc. (though we make up drinks ready to go).

There’s a compartment in the lid, though we never use it.
Made from metal (vacuum insulated), there’s no glass inside, so perfect for throwing in the side of a backpack without worrying about it getting knocked and broken.

What’s more, they are relatively cheap, and come in different colours….which helps identify whose drink it is!
Highly recommend. Ideal for camping, hiking, or days out with the kids.

If you have anyone in your family doing their Duke of Edinburgh Award, you can even get a D of E branded version.

Here’s our collection of the Lifeventure Thermal Mug. Well used, and well worn. They’ve proved to be a tough little flask.
They’re a pretty indestructible flask.
If the rubber gasket wears, you can get a replacement from Lifeventure. However, despite regular use and washing it in the dishwasher (top shelf), we’ve not had to replace a gasket yet.

This is our most used and oldest one. Notice how the paint has been stripped away through all the millions of times it has been opened.
- Tough
- Easily fits into side pockets of backpacks
- Keeps things warm despite its small size
- Can be cleaned in a dishwasher
- We have bought many of these though we did get one where the lid leaked. If you notice this, just take it back to the shop and get it replaced.
