Hi Gear Summit 350 Review – An affordable 4 Season Sleeping Bag for camping
The Hi Gear Summit 350 Sleeping Bag is a great entry-level 4 season sleeping bag. We’ve been really impressed with ours. Ideal for car camping.

Hi Gear Summit 350 Sleeping Bag – Size: L-H – Colour: Gold
The Hi Gear Summit 350 sleeping bag is a really affordable 4 season sleeping bag. It’s also really warm – we know as we have one!
Whilst we’ve not used ours in the depths of Winter (yet!), we have been out early spring in some pretty cold weather and this bag was nice and toasty. Other reviewers on Go Outdoors have taken it out in Winter and found the bag was warm.
This bag is rated to be comfortable at a chilly -5.2C, with a lower limit of -11.9C (extreme limit is -31.2C).
It’s a synthetic filled sleeping bag that weighs 2.3kg.
It packs down to 45 x 26cm. This is quite large, and the main downside to this sleeping bag. Packed away it is much larger than our other sleeping bags (which are only 2 and 3 season). Since we are car camping (with a trailer), this large pack size is not too much of a problem.

Hi Gear Summit 350 DL – Packed
I wouldn’t recommend this bag for back packing due to the packed size.
As you can see from the photo of our packed Summit 350 that it’s quite a big bag when packed. I placed a pen in the picture to help give you an idea of its size.
You would need to spend a lot more money for a smaller 4 Season bag, which would probably use Down for insulation (‘down’ packs down smaller!).
Read our guide to 4 season sleeping bags for more details on choosing a sleeping bag for the cooler months.
- A very warm sleeping bag.
- A little large when packed.
