Our Review

I think the Easy Camp Palmdale 500 Lux gives you a lot of tent for the price. Although the RRP is £400, you can usually pick this tent up for around £300, which is a bargain.

The living space of this tent is divided into two, providing you with a very flexible layout.

At the front, you can open up the big doors and remove the groundsheet. This makes an excellent built-in porch, that's really family-friendly, as it's a good place for the kids to come and go, leave wet and muddy shoes, etc. We also find this layout great for bringing in chairs overnight so that they don't get wet.

If you want though, you could keep the groundsheet down and keep it sealed up, to make one large fully-enclosed living area.

At the heart of the tent is the main living area with plenty of headroom. This has enough space for a storage cupboard, bags, and room to get the kids dressed.

It is at this part of the tent where the electric cable comes in if you are on an electric hook-up. You also have a second side door.

At the back of the tent are the bedrooms.

The bedrooms are deliberately very dark, which helps you sleep when the sun gets up extra early in the summer months.

On the Palmdale 500 Lux, the bedrooms are arranged as three and two people. If you get the larger Palmdale 600 Lux, both bedrooms can accommodate three people.

Although you could fit five people in this tent, fewer people make it more comfortable. For example, in the photo below, camp beds are used with space around them. This would make a great larger room for the adults!
