There are plenty of pac-a-mac type solutions out there. The Compresslite Jacket goes further, and insulates as well as keep waterproof. Kids sizes too.

There’s plenty of times in the year when you want to take the family outside but aren’t too sure about the weather. Will it rain? How windy will it be?
As a parent, you can all too often end up carrying lots of gear for the kids, “just in case”. If it’s not wet and they’re warm, they want you to carry their coat.
Pack-away raincoats can be an option. They’re a lot smaller and lighter, so your bag doesn’t get filled with all your kids’ coats.
However, most pack-away coats for kids are typically just macs.
The guys over at Craghoppers have been working on their Compresslite technology to make a coat that is lightweight, waterproof, and insulating but can pack down small enough to easily fit in your bag. And they’ve made the Compresslite in kids sizes too.

Girls Compresslite Jacket Review
Firstly, don’t think of this jacket as a pack-a-mac type of coat. Although it packs down to a similar size, this is a jacket with insulation designed to keep you warm.
When it is packed away, it’s lightweight and small enough to fit into your bag – or your kid’s bag without them complaining.
It’s also child’s play to get the Compresslite jacket out or stuff back into its bag.

Craghoppers Compresslite Jacket is child’s play to put away
The jacket has a water resistant coating, and although it has protected one of our gang in the rain, we’ve found this jacket great on windy days too.
It comes with all the things you’d expect from a good design to keep you warm:
We should also mention that the hood isn’t just a waterproof flap, but also is filled with insulation.

Snow ball in full flight
This insulation really makes the coat stand out as a packable solution. It’s just enough to make this an effective outer layer even when it snows.
On the practical side, it’s washable at 30 and even safe for tumble dryers.

Compresslite Jackets keeping us warm in the snow
Thanks to the guys over a Craghoppers for providing us with a jacket to review.

Just to ket everyone know the jacket is not waterproof what so ever and it is not advertised as being waterproof. However once the jacket is wet it dries very very quickly.
Also the jacket is windproof it is a good jacket especially for the price but in even light showers you will need an additional waterproof layer to prevent water ingress especially for children seeing as this review was aimed at clothing for children.
