Coleman Xtreme 3 Cooler Review

We put the latest Coleman Xtreme cooler to the test.
The Coleman Xtreme Cool boxes
We reviewed the original Coleman Xtreme cooler range a few years back.
And in our comparison test, the Coleman Xtreme out-performed the other cool boxes in terms of insulation performance.
However, that was with a big 33L trunk of a cooler. And although it performed well and could take a lot of items, there were a few improvements needed:
- You could not store 2L bottles upright.
- Although the shape fitted into the boot, it was large and took up a lot of space.
The Coleman Xtreme version 3
Since then, Coleman has refined their design, making the high-performing insulation thinner.
Coleman sent us over their latest Xtreme cooler design with this Coleman Xtreme 3 26L cooler.
This is a much more like the traditional shape of cool boxes. The ability to store bottles upright is a welcome change.
We recently took it on a trip we took in a motorhome. Whilst the motorhome had a fridge, the coolbox was useful for taking items on the few hours it took to where we picked up the motorhome.
As expected, everything remained cool.
The only downside we found with it was the fact that the lid just wanted to close itself, which meant loading and unloading it a bit of a pain….but this was probably just down to the lid hinges still being new.

The Coleman Xtreme3 Cooler
- A good non-powered coolbox that really does keep things cool.
- Rugged and tough.

Did Coleman supply this direct? Just wondering as cont find this colour scheme anywhere in UK at the moment.

There were a lot around in the shops last year but Coleman appear to have gone back to the blue and white design now. I quite liked the grey and orange colour. http://www.coleman.eu/UK/c-364-xtreme-coolers.aspx

Coleman is still selling them though most suppliers are out of stock. skcamping.com has a few left – I just bought one.
