The good

Our Review
The Coleman Waterfall is a great 'weekender' tent for the smaller family.
Coleman Waterfall - Our View
This tent only has the one sleeping area, so you need to be fine about sharing. So what makes this a good family tent?
Well, it's lightweight and quite compact, so ideal if it just a few of you going away or you just need something for a single night. The big family tents are great but they can involve a lot for single night camping (not necessarily because the tents are that much effort to put up, it's just the more space you have the more you end up taking ;-) )
Although the manufacturer states this as a 5 person tent, it is actually more suited to 2 adults and 2 kids. Any more and the sleeping area may get a bit too cosy.
A drawback with this tent is a common one: lack of overhead shelter when coming in and out of the tent. This means that if it is raining heavily, going in and out of the tent may get some water in due to the tent's sloping sides.
Easily dealt with by taking a towel or erecting a tarp shelter.
Tent Details
This tent is a mixture of a dome and tunnel tent and easily put together in the typical fashion of inserting fibreglass poles through the slots provided.
A sewn-in groundsheet reduces the number of bits you need to take, as well as helping to keep some of those bugs out.
The living area is a good size so plenty of storage space and somewhere to shelter if you need to get out the rain!
It also has a good design in that the side opening door can be pegged out with some additional poles (supplied) to make a sun shelter.
And it must be noted again, it weighs less than 14KG.
