The Coleman Vail 6L is a smart-looking, large family tent ideal for family holidays where you want a tent with plenty of space. If you have more than two kids, a tent of this size will be ideal. But even with two older kids who don't want to share, or you want lots of space, this is a fantastic size. It comes in at a lower price than other tents of this size. It has fewer features than the Coleman Castle Pines 6L but still has many great aspects, such as a 4000mm hydrostatic head, a built-in porch, and a no-trip entrance.

The Tent's Layout
As you can see, the Coleman Vail 6L tent is a large family tent, with three double bedrooms and plenty of living space
The Tent Bedrooms
This tent has three double bedrooms, so plenty of sleeping space exists.
You can remove the tent dividers to create one large bedroom. This creates quite a flexible sleeping layout.
The bedrooms are darkened to help with a better night's sleep. However, note that this tent doesn't have Coleman's BlackOut technology. For a similar tent with BlackOut bedrooms, see the Coleman Meadowood 6L or Coleman Castle Pines 6L.
The Living Space
The living space in this tent is quite spacious, making it ideal for family camping holidays, as it has enough space for camping furniture to help keep things stored, such as an additional change of clothes.
There are large windows to let in plenty of light, and it has both the main tent door and an additional side door. There is also a dedicated cable entry into the tent.
You can get a carpet for this part of the tent, which we recommend getting.

The Porch
The Coleman Vail 6L comes with a built-in porch. We think this is a great feature for family tents.
Put a few chairs here, and you can sit and watch the kids out of the breeze. Anyone with muddy shoes or boots can be left under the porch, so you don't get the inner tent muddy. It's also a great place to store chairs and toys overnight to keep them dry.
The groundsheet lays flat at the main tent door, so you don't trip.
Pitching the Tent
The Coleman Vail 6L comes with flexible tent poles that slot together.
Each pole is marked with a different colour. You slide the pole into a sleeve on the tent that matches the pole's colour.
