Bridgedale Trekker Socks
Our Review
Don't overlook getting some good socks. They can make hiking a lot more comfortable...

A bad pair of socks in your walking boots can make things unpleasant.
Bridgedale is a well-known brand in making good walking socks, so we gave them a go.
Bridgedale Trekker Socks (for Women)

Bridgedale Trekker Socks, which have Merino wool for extra comfort, warmth, and wicking.
These Trekker socks are made with Merino wool (part of their Merino Fusion range).
In case you've not heard of Merino wool, it's a natural fibre that is a very good insulator, resists water, resists smells, and is very, very soft. Using it for socks makes perfect sense. And ideal for winter.
Here's a video they've put together.

The Trekker socks are designed for comfort, additional foot padding, and warmth.
As you can guess from the name, these socks are ideal for hiking.
There's no rough stitching in these which can cause blisters.
So what are the socks like?
So far, I have been impressed with these socks.
I was surprised by just how comfortable they were...after all, they're just socks, right?
On the hills, they have performed well.
The elastic has kept the socks up, so no sock travelling down into your boots (I hate that!), but at the same time the elastic wasn't too tight.
I hate having cold feet, in fact, I always wear two pairs of socks even in the house!! These socks keep my feet warm with only one pair on, and comfortable too, though I did get cold feet when sitting on a very cold hill with well below zero wind chill during our winter night micro adventure.
Would I recommend these? Yes. If you are looking to get some walking socks, the Bridgedale socks are well worth it.
Technical Bits
Recommended to wash inside out (not sure why!) at a 40 wool cycle, and can be tumble dried on a low heat setting.
