Our Review

If you are an outdoor family, muddy boots are the norm.  So how do you clean off the mud on your boots?

If you are like us, we tend to let the mud dry then brush it off, or wash them in the sink - messy job!!

Having seen some of our muddy footwear on social media, Boot Buddy asked us if we would be interested in trying out Boot Buddy, a little gadget that helps to help clean dirty footwear.

This is the Boot Buddy.

How does it work?

To use it you simply:

Fill with water, scrape off excess mud, unlock the water flow and scrub to clean.

Boot Buddy makes the following claims:

• Prolong the lifespan of your footwear
• Minutes to clean the most stubborn dirt of water
• Convenient and uses less than 300ml of water
• Less time cleaning, more time playing!

How did we get on?

It was not difficult to find a willing volunteer to get some boots muddy!

Here is a quick video we put together to show us using Boot Buddy

The Boot Buddy was easy to use and performed well.

I had to fill up the water holder twice to clean both boots. ( approx 600mls of water )

This is far less water than if I had cleaned them with a running tap. You do need to give the water chamber a little squeeze as you are scrubbing.

I did find that in the process I got a little bit muddy!

When you scrub with the bristled brush particularly on the tread of the boots you get a little splattered with mud.

Not an issue just something to be aware of and be prepared for!

I also used the Boot Buddy on a pair of casual boots that were looking in need of a clean. It worked well on these much less splattering of mud and my daughter was rather pleased with her clean boots.

Verdict

A simple, quick and easy tool to clean muddy footwear. It is portable so you can clean your boots wherever you are, so saves getting mud in the car, handy also if you are camping, caravanning, etc. I'm hoping that it will encourage the kids to clean their own boots, well I can dream!
