CONS:
  • As with most inflatable tents, the packed size of the tent can be large, so make sure you have space to get it to the campsite along with all the other items you'll want to take.

  • Geodesic design for good stability.
CONS:
  • It is a three-person tent, but we recommend this is better for two adults, or a parent taking a copy of kids on an adventure camp.

We've based our review on our experience with the Vango Mirage 300 but adjusted for the specifications of the Helvellyn 300, which is slightly smaller and has a lower hydrostatic head. Despite a lower HH, this is a great tent for the money.

CONS:

The Outwell Rockland 5P is slightly smaller than the larger Outwell Family Tents but still is crammed full of features. We think this tent is ideal for a family of four, giving Mum and Dad a little more space in the three-person bedroom. :-)

  • Being a large tent with lots of features, the Coleman Weathermaster 8XL is at the upper end of the Coleman tents price range.

  • Personally, I think the dividing screen between the bedrooms could be thicker, but this is only a minor preference.
  • I also think this tent a little too large if you just camp for one night. You will want to spend a few nights to make the most of it.

  • The tent felt well made and good quality.
CONS:
  • Steel poles, although strong, can make pitching heavy and don't always slide apart easily when putting the tent away.
  • It doesn't have a great 'rain-safe' entrance, but you can use something like the Coleman Classic Awning for that.

CONS:
  • You might need to practice securing the pump to the valves and inflating. I found it a bit fiddly. Also, note that your living space is reduced with the 3rd bedroom.
