Our Review
On a wintery December weekend, we headed off to Love2Stay in Shropshire.
This has to be the closest campsite to our house we've ever stayed in. We only live about a mile away. However, despite hearing great things about Love2Stay since it opened in the summer, this was our first chance to visit it.
The facilities block has all the latest mod cons.
Since our caravan is stored there, for a small fee (£10) they took the caravan out of storage and pitched it for us, and then took it back to storage once we'd finished our stay. Nice and simple trip this time :-)
The pitches are quite generous at Love2Stay. The super pitches have their own water, drainage, and electricity.
Love2Stay is resetting the benchmark of what you expect of a campsite. It's much more like a luxury resort, it's just that you can stay there with your caravan or motorhome...or stay in the glamping village too, of course.
The toilet and shower block are like a high-end hotel.
No rummaging for 50 pence pieces to have a shower at this campsite; the shower price is included with your pitch fee, and they even provide the shower gel and shampoo too!
Other items included in the cost of your pitch - and this was a surprise - were the use of the on-site gym and hot tubs.
Outside the gym are the natural swimming pool and sun-loungers...though we didn't get any use of them in December!
Near the pool is the pizzeria and cafe, and we can vouch that they do very good fresh stonebaked pizzas.
The kid's play park at Love2Stay is really good.
Other activities and facilities on-site include an excellent kids' play park, a fire pit, BBQ huts, and a lake that they run canoeing sessions on. There's even a cinema in a giant canvas tent.
Under this canvas is the cinema. When we visited they were showing kids movies. £3 a ticket.
In terms of other site facilities, there's a nice long area to pull in when you check-in, which is great if you are towing, a motorhome service point, and this:

Here are the instructions for the toilet cassette machine. Unfortunately, I didn't have the £4 to try it out but will do it next time.
Our 4-legged friends aren't left out either, as the campsite even has a dog path, complete with a dryer.

And how much was all this? Surely, a place with all these facilities is going to be a fortune?
Well, no. When we stayed, it was out of peak season, but it was only just over £20 for the family to stay. We've often had to pay a lot more than that at even basic campsites with a tent and no EHU.
Christmas Time
Being December, there were also Christmas decorations and another addition to the campsite: an ice rink!
...and the next morning it was the Santa Run!
The entire campsite was filled with 100s of Santas, small and large, running 2.5K or 5K.

Verdict
We only stayed one night but had a fantastic time. This is somewhere we will be going back to, despite our house being a short walk down the road!
