Not far from the town of Porthmadog in North Wales is Haven's Greenacres Holiday Park, right next to the large sandy beaches of Black Rock Sands.

Stay in one of the many static caravan models, or bring your own caravan or motorhome and stay in the touring area (but note, there are no tent pitches at Greenacres).

The park also has a heated indoor pool and outdoor splash zone, as well as nature activities, bowling, arcardeds, and entertainment, as well as the Mash and Barrel pub and Papa Johns pizza.

Our Review

On a wet and windy August (thanks to Storms Kyle and Ellen) we pitched our caravan at Haven's Greenacres Holiday Park.

But despite the unseasonably bad weather and the reduced facilities due to COVID-19, we had a great time and it's somewhere we want to visit again.

Greenacres - Fully Serviced Touring Pitch

The fully serviced pitches come with electric, water, and grey waste

Pitched at the Campsite

These fully serviced pitches are a generous size.

The facilities block isn't huge, but since the touring area only accepts motorhomes and caravans, it's not as heavily used as a campsite that has tents.

The rest of the park has static caravans with easy access to the beach.

You can see some of this in our video below.

Nearby is the town of Porthmadog, and along the coast is Criccieth, with its castle you can see from the beach.

From the beach, you can see Criccieth castle in the distance.

The beach is quite flat, though can get enough waves for some bodyboarding.

Sunny day bodyboarding

The waves can sometimes be good enough for bodyboarding.

The tide can go out quite far.

Watch out for cars that can drive on the beach.

There's also a nature reserve and dunes you can explore.
