Camping La Ravoire
Camping La Ravoire is just off the shores of Lake Annecy, towards the Doussard end of the lake.
There is a mix of accommodation, from camping pitches, to lodges, to safari tents, to static caravan cabins, complete with wooden decks, sunshades, and deck chairs and table for that outdoor family living.
At Camping La Ravoire there are two swimming pools: one outside with waterslides, and an indoor heated pool.
Bikes can be hired at the campsite, and there's a cycle path right outside Camping La Ravoire, for a family friendly traffic-free bike ride all the way to Annecy. If you fancy walking and trying some of the surrounding Alpine hills, there are walks from and near the campsite too.
The campsite can also organise other activities, such as paragliding and whitewater rafting, or one of the many other adventure sports available around Lake Annecy.
Using a car at Lake Annecy is recommended as there's so much to see and do. Drive a little further, and you can take a train up to the glacier on the famous Mont Blanc mountain.
Entertainment and kids clubs are provided during the peak season of July and August. During July and August, there is also a scuba diving taster session in the swimming pool each Friday.
Our Review
We were invited to come and review Camping La Ravoire by Damien (who is French) and Kayleigh (who is English). They are a lovely couple doing great things with this campsite on the shores of Lake Annecy.
This is an area we've always wanted to visit, and the Lake Annecy area certainly lived up to expectations.

We stayed in one of the campsite's Relax Lodges. This was a new lodge with an outside deck and sunshade, and very comfortable too. It even had a dishwasher!
Our cabin had a fantastic spot for sunbathing.
Camping La Ravoire isn't a huge campsite, and so it never feels crowded, yet there's still a good amount of facilities, such as two pools, water slides, sun decks, bar and cafe, a small games room, and an exercise room. Plus, there's also a bouncy castle, small play park, and a ball games area.

Camping La Ravoire has an execrise room too, complete with a view of the mountains!
You can hire bikes too, which we did, and if you want to do other activities, Camping La Ravoire has partnered with several different activity providers and can organise all sorts of activities for your family.

You can book your stay directly with Camping La Ravoire, or if you prefer, you can also book via Eurocamp or the Camping and Caravanning Club. The Club holds a summer rally at the campsite.

During July and August, children's entertainment and activities are provided. But please note that this is a quiet campsite, without lots of nightlife and evening entertainment.
Getting to Camping La Ravoire
We decided to fly and hire a car as we were short of time. The nearest airport is Geneva (in Switzerland).
The flights cost us over a grand for the family flying with Easy Jet from Manchester.
Alternatively, you can drive. There were many British families at the campsite that had driven from the UK. Google estimates 7 hours 50 minutes of driving to travel the 837 km from the Calais Eurotunnel.
Some of the families are return visitors, coming back year after year.
