East Sussex

Hidden Spring offers twenty-five pitches for tents, campervans and small caravans, set amongst our twenty acres of orchards. 
Well away from busy roads, we are still just a short walk to the village, to link to the Cuckoo Trail cycle path, or to a number of great pubs, via footpaths. 
The site comprises two fields, one with EHU and one, just for tents, with our three yurts in. 
The tent only field is kept car-free, except for setting up. There are two simple play areas with swings and a willow spiral, but most of all there is space.
We offer a number of family-based courses, and a wood-fired pizza man visits, see web site for details and forthcoming dates.

The Macs Farm is nestled in the South Downs National Park and has a number of camping fields, with the Barn Owl Field especially for families.
Every pitch has a fire pit, plus there's a large communal fire pit.
This is car-free camping, and so the kids can run free. (You can borrow a wheelbarrow to move your camping gear from the car park to your pitch).

If you don't want to bring a tent, then you can also hire Bell Tents.

Macs Farm also has the Mac Shack for drinks and snacks and even locally sourced beer, wine, and cider.
Of course, free-range eggs too, as that's what the Macs Farm does.

There's plenty to keep the kids busy too, from Deano's Snake Shack at the weekend, to activities and Nerf battles with <Link href="/places/activity-centre/the-outdoors-project-at-macs-farm/">The Outdoor Project</Link>.

The Outdoors Project at Macs Farm

Welcome to Wowo Campsite, we are a family run, family orientated campsite buried in the heart of Sussex only a short drive to London and Brighton.

We specialise in the things that we think are essential to great camping here at Wowo:
1.Campfires- We think camping just isn't the same without a crackling campfire to sit
around when it gets dark, cook on and keep you warm.

2. We are a family campsite - children and dog friendly, allowing
families to camp together in groups.

3. We have a varied selection of Mongolian Yurts for those campers looking
for added luxury whilst retaining the rustic style of the outdoors.

We also have a huge selection of educational courses here at Wowo, anything from foraging for herbal medicines, making pottery over a fire, bushcraft skills, circus skills, you name it, you can do it here!

On the weekends in the summer we provide all campers that are interested in free entertainment and soup. Homemade, organic, delicious soup with homemade bread to create a relaxed communal atmosphere.

Wowo Campsite

Wild Boar Wood Campsite is a family-based campsite which offers campers real off-grid woodland camping in our stylish pre-erected Bell Tents. (We have tent pitches at our Beech Estate Woodland Campsite)

Our nine fully-equipped Bell Tents are set in a beautiful campsite with open campfires, within a five-acre bluebell wood in the heart of Sussex. Our woodland campsite is located in the High Weald, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

   The Bell Tents offer a unique, off-grid, holiday ‘glamping’ experience and are set apart in the trees giving solitude and privacy from the outside world. The camp is located in West Sussex near Haywards Heath, close to London, Brighton and Ashdown Forest. Wild Boar Wood Campsite offers an opportunity to camp side by side with nature, whilst enjoying the comfort of our tents, with beds, cooking equipment, open fire bbq grill and a firewood allocation.

We have a permanent warden onsite to assist our campers at all times. The campsite is ideal for families and groups, to reconnect and renew friendships, or chat with fellow campers around the campfire. Full campsite bookings are also available for that special celebration. The two ‘faraway’ tents offer a more secluded option, tucked away from the main campsite, for couples and families wanting their own space.

Wild Boar Wood and its surrounding 40-acre field teem with wildlife; birds, butterflies, deer, rabbit, hedgehogs and foxes make their homes in the field, hedgerows and woodland. Close by the woodland campsite, the River Ouse meanders through the countryside, offering delightful and scenic walks along its banks to the welcoming local hostelries.

The peace and tranquillity are interrupted only by the historic and spectacular Bluebell Railway locomotives as they occasionally thunder past the edge of the woodland campsite!

We operate a small scale quiet, relaxed and laid back campsite. We don’t allow amplified music and have a low noise policy from 10 pm in the evenings.

Beech Estate Woodland Campsite is Eco Camp UK’s second off-grid family campsite with fully equipped Bell Tents and ‘bring your own tent’ Forest Pitches, including the Faraway Tent Pitches. All our Bell Tents and Tent Pitches allow campfires and are set inside a beautiful woodland area.

Beech Estate Woodland Campsite is located in East Sussex near the historic town of Battle, within easy distance to London, Hastings and the South Coast.

The Campsite is located within the 1900 acre private Beech Estate; a classified Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Campsite is nestled on the edge of a 500-acre woodland. The woodland offers limitless walks, the forest rises perfect for mountain bike riding and areas for kids to make dens and run wild. Guests at the campsite have the exclusive use of the Estate’s woodlands, as there is no access for the general public.
We have a number of Tent Pitches for hire. These are set apart in clearings in our beautiful woodland location. For campers wanting to feel very secluded, try the “Faraway Tent Pitches” which are set on top of a hill looking over Bracken Valley. These very private, although there is a short additional walk to the toilets and shower.

Our lovely Bell Tents are set in the woods, each complete with its own campfire-pit.  The Bell Tents offer a unique, off-grid, holiday ‘glamping’ experience and are set apart in the trees giving solitude and privacy from the outside world. Our Bell Tents offer a comfortable hassle-free option, to enjoy real off-grid camping in our fully equipped pre-erected tents, with beds, cooking equipment and tableware, chairs, picnic table complete with an open fire bbq grill and a firewood allocation.

We have a permanent warden onsite to assist our campers at all times. The campsite is ideal for families and groups, to reconnect and renew friendships, or chat with fellow campers around the campfire. Full campsite bookings are also available for that special celebration.

Adjacent to the campsite is the Estate’s meadowland area of conservation, which encompasses 110 acres of the largest and most important surviving tracts of interconnected ancient meadow in the South East. The Beech Estate woodlands and meadows support birds of prey such as Hobby, Buzzard, Kestrel, Sparrow Hawks and Barn Owls. The meadows are full of Orchids, Ox-eye Daisies, Quaking Grasses, Bird’s Foot Trefoil and Knapweed. As it stands 34 different species of Butterfly have been identified on Beech Estate (including Clouded Yellows and Painted Ladies) as well as a number of rare insects.

We also provide our unique eco toilets and shower in a custom made wooden gipsy style caravan. The campsite is off-grid with no electricity. We have a mains water supply.
