Over the 2021 summer holidays, Worthy Farm - the home of the world-famous Glastonbury Festival - will become Worthy Pastures, a tranquil, family-friendly campsite which will welcome guests to get back to basics in nature, with a range of pre-erected bell tents and scout tents available to hire for 3-, 4- and 5-night stays.
 
Worthy Pastures will capture the essence of the Glastonbury Festival with its familiar style of signage, painted bins and décor, giving you the chance to explore the site’s famous landmarks and enjoy a range of on-site activities and food traders, as well as the many nearby attractions Somerset has to offer.

Somerset

Greenacres is an award-winning family-owned campsite, set in the beautiful Somerset countryside.

Our quiet 4.5-acre site nestles where the Somerset Levels meets the Mendip Hills, with stunning views of Glastonbury Tor. We offer idyllic countryside, amazing wildlife and a peaceful, get-away-from-it-all holiday, just 40 minutes from the hustle of Bristol and Bath.

The site is flat and easily accessible. There is plenty of space for children to play, with swings and slides etc. 

We are close to the beautiful city of Wells, with its magnificent Cathedral and Bishops Palace, mystic Glastonbury and the historic market town of Shepton Mallet. Nearby is a wealth of attractions including Cheddar Gorge, <Link href="/daysout/days-out-england/days-out-in-somerset/wookey-hole/">Wookey Hole</Link>, shopping at Clark's Village in Street, Longleat, <Link href="/daysout/days-out-england/days-out-in-somerset/the-roman-baths-bath/">Bath</Link>, Bristol, the <Link href="/daysout/days-out-england/days-out-in-somerset/fleet-air-arm-museum/">Fleet Air Arm Museum</Link>, the Bath & West Showground and many others. Less than an hour away are the beaches of Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Lyme Regis, Weymouth and Bridport.

In 2012 the AA awarded the site a merit score of 95%, the highest in Somerset once again. Their inspector said Greenacres provides "an excellent, spacious, family camping environment " The Alan Rogers Guide of hand-picked sites describes Greenacres as "a true haven of peace and quiet". We're also one of the select sites featured in Cool Camping Britain, described as a "Spellbinding family campsite" with"a peaceful outdoor living area that is both safe and comfortable for young families and lots of fun for children."

There are lots to see and do, or maybe you'd prefer to spend the time dozing, listening to the birds.

Greenacres Camping

Cheddar Mendip Heights is just down the road from Cheddar Gorge in the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. 

This is a relatively small campsite, with a limited number of hard-standing pitches, but has many grass pitches with electric hook-up if required.

Cheddar is the deepest gorge in the country and you can explore it both underground and overground.
It's been a popular place with humans for thousands of years, with many of the caves being home to real 'cavemen'. You can see where they found the famous Cheddar Man in the cave too!
Of course, the caves have also been used for more than just living. The caves proved to be the perfect place to store cheese while it matures, producing the even more famous Cheddar Cheese.

Longleat Safari & Adventure Park

The Hideout is a small, friendly, family-run site conveniently situated approximately 4 miles from Junction 23 of the M5 motorway. The site is tucked away from any main roads in a quiet and spacious setting with 15 pitches. The Hideout is ideal for Caravans, Motor homes, Trailer tents, tents etc.

We offer idyllic countryside, amazing wildlife and a peaceful location, perfect for those who wish to get away from their busy lifestyles. We are just 40 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Bristol and one hour from the historic cities of Bath and Exeter. As you will see from our gallery, the site is easily accessible to campers, caravans and motor homes. Adjacent to the pitches is a field, offering plenty of space for children to run around and play.

The Hideout is ideally located if you wish to get to a number of different areas in Somerset. We are within 30 minutes of one of the UK's smallest cities, Wells. Here you will find commanding, but elegant Cathedral well worth visiting while you are in the area. On the way there you will pass through Street, the home of Clarks Shoes and Clarks Village and then Glastonbury, offering a walk up the famous Tor, or around the beautiful Abbey ruins.

Botany Camping

Nestled in the beautiful Frome valley are the remains of Farleigh Hungerford Castle. 
This is not a big traditional looking castle. Instead, it's a 14th Century fortified mansion, that was lived in for 300 years by the Hungerford family.
