Somerset Yurts is a fantastic eco-friendly retreat nestled on a working Dairy Farm in the beautiful Quantock Hills. Providing stunning accommodation, our yurts allow couples and families to get back to nature while enjoying a tranquil break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Kids can run free and explore the 2-acre yurt field, and can come and meet the dairy herd to see where milk comes from!

The yurts are a great way for families to get out into the countryside camping while having lots of space, and comfort!

Somerset

The Hideout is a small, friendly, family-run site conveniently situated approximately 4 miles from Junction 23 of the M5 motorway. The site is tucked away from any main roads in a quiet and spacious setting with 15 pitches. The Hideout is ideal for Caravans, Motor homes, Trailer tents, tents etc.

We offer idyllic countryside, amazing wildlife and a peaceful location, perfect for those who wish to get away from their busy lifestyles. We are just 40 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Bristol and one hour from the historic cities of Bath and Exeter. As you will see from our gallery, the site is easily accessible to campers, caravans and motor homes. Adjacent to the pitches is a field, offering plenty of space for children to run around and play.

The Hideout is ideally located if you wish to get to a number of different areas in Somerset. We are within 30 minutes of one of the UK's smallest cities, Wells. Here you will find commanding, but elegant Cathedral well worth visiting while you are in the area. On the way there you will pass through Street, the home of Clarks Shoes and Clarks Village and then Glastonbury, offering a walk up the famous Tor, or around the beautiful Abbey ruins.

Grey Willow Yurts has something for everyone, whether you are a tough winter camper or a fair weather glamper. We are a small, family run, off-grid cabin campsite with added comforts. We're family friendly, group friendly, campfire friendly, and we really like dogs, and stars... We’re big on stars!

Grey Willow Yurts

Nestled into the South Coast Countryside in South Somerset, bordering both Devon & Dorset Counties is this unique rural camping and caravanning touring park. This quiet, level oak woodland site is set in 8.5 acres of parkland with pitches naturally screened by rhododendrons amongst the mature oaks, beeches & birches. 

For Tents, there are ample camping pitches on the campsite where the feeling of seclusion, amongst totally natural settings and abundant wildlife of both flora & fauna, is to be enjoyed.
For campers with Motor Homes and Caravans, hard standing is available on naturally draining level pitches arranged in an arc with the freedom to erect awnings.
Folding Campers & Trailer Tents are positioned amongst the touring park. 

With many of the above pitches serviced with electric, campers are encouraged to pitch anywhere they please to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere which allows them to escape the trappings of modern life. 
Some pitches are bathed in sunshine whilst others enjoy gentle shading from the leaf canopy of these magnificent oaks. Picnic benches are arranged around the site for eating al-fresco and are ideal for picnics & barbecues.


Friendly Dogs are welcome, on leads.

The newly refurbished and extended modern single amenity block is clean with free hot water, hand basins, shaver points, hand & hairdryer and laundry facilities plus both hand washing and dishwashing sinks. We also have a disabled/ family bathroom.
Recycling and refuse bins, chemical disposal point and wastewater disposal are all nearby with freshwater taps dotted around the site.

The combined reception & small shop stocks most provisions and displays local information/ leaflets on the many local attractions. We stock local produce e.g free-range eggs, bacon, sausages, honey, bread & cakes, milk. Camping Gaz and Calor Gas and Freezer packs are also available. The historic town of Chard is only 2 miles away (the birthplace of powered flight).

With 3 different customs and traditions of the 3 adjoining counties of South Somerset, Dorset & Devon there is plenty to see & enjoy. 
The South Coast, Lyme Regis, is only 20 minutes away with its famous & picturesque Cobb, beach and world-renowned fossil beaches.
Cricket St. Thomas Wildlife Park is only 2 miles away offering a superb wildlife experience to all the family.
Forde Abbey (one of the top 10 gardens in the country) is only 2.5 miles away and in the summer, fruit picking is not to be missed. 
At the beach resort of Seaton (25 minutes away) is a tramway.
Also nearby is the National Trust Montacute House.
And for adventure, Diggerland offers a real JCB experience.

For cyclists, either follow the level cycle network path to Illminster or for the fit & healthy perhaps try the 80 miles South Somerset circular cycle route which travels past the campsite.

For walkers & dog owners, a public footpath on the Eastern boundary of the Camping & Caravanning site runs North towards Chard Reservoir Nature Reserve, where fishing permits are available, and South towards Perry Street and the nearest pub just over 1 mile away for good food & drink. In reception two circular walks from the campsite enjoy different scenery and easy enough for the smaller family members.

Golf is available at the nearby Wind Whistle Golf Club (2 miles) with both greens & driving range.
Horse riding (approx 5 miles) for beginners to jockeys.
Other nearby activities include tennis, cinema, boat trips and a lot more.

The site is flat and easily accessible. There is plenty of space for children to play, with swings and slides etc.

Their inspector said Greenacres provides "an excellent, spacious, family camping environment " The Alan Rogers Guide of hand-picked sites describes Greenacres as "a true haven of peace and quiet". We're also one of the select sites featured in Cool Camping Britain, described as a "Spellbinding family campsite" with"a peaceful outdoor living area that is both safe and comfortable for young families and lots of fun for children."

There are lots to see and do, or maybe you'd prefer to spend the time dozing, listening to the birds.

Cheddar is the deepest gorge in the country and you can explore it both underground and overground.
It's been a popular place with humans for thousands of years, with many of the caves being home to real 'cavemen'. You can see where they found the famous Cheddar Man in the cave too!
Of course, the caves have also been used for more than just living. The caves proved to be the perfect place to store cheese while it matures, producing the even more famous Cheddar Cheese.
