Monstay Farm Campsite, Shropshire
Monstay is a working farm set in the beautiful countryside of Shropshire, just outside the medieval town of Ludlow.
There are some excellent forest walks near the campsite, and if get up early enough, there's a good chance of spotting the wild deer.
If you don't fancy camping, there's also a shepherd's hut you can hire.
Our Review
We've had an enjoyable stay at Monstay Farm on a busy summer weekend.

Our Outwell Monty 6SA at Monstay Farm
Considering how hilly the area is, the campsite fields are relatively flat. Of course, don't expect bowling green flat in this landscape of rolling hills.
The campsite is quite high-up, and so you have a good view of the forest on the opposite side of the valley. This forest has lots of walks and cycle paths, and so a good place to take the kids, as well as Ludlow Castle that is not far away.
Monstay is a working farm, and when we visited, the facilities were by the stables. The kids enjoyed seeing the ponies each time they walked past.
Campfires are allowed too, and you can get electric hook-up if you need it.

Directions
If you are using your Sat Nav it will probably take you through Ludlow, where you'll live and cross over a river bridge. After crossing the bridge take the next right to Burrington and Wigmore. Follow this road for about 3 miles and then lookout for a sign saying "Viannals Car Park 200 yards". You'll find the farm entrance on the right opposite the car park.
(There are some great walks through the forest from the car park.)
