We're family friendly, group friendly, campfire friendly, and we really like dogs, and stars... We’re big on stars!

Devon

Nestled into the South Coast Countryside in South Somerset, bordering both Devon & Dorset Counties is this unique rural camping and caravanning touring park. This quiet, level oak woodland site is set in 8.5 acres of parkland with pitches naturally screened by rhododendrons amongst the mature oaks, beeches & birches. 

For Tents, there are ample camping pitches on the campsite where the feeling of seclusion, amongst totally natural settings and abundant wildlife of both flora & fauna, is to be enjoyed.
For campers with Motor Homes and Caravans, hard standing is available on naturally draining level pitches arranged in an arc with the freedom to erect awnings.
Folding Campers & Trailer Tents are positioned amongst the touring park. 

With many of the above pitches serviced with electric, campers are encouraged to pitch anywhere they please to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere which allows them to escape the trappings of modern life. 
Some pitches are bathed in sunshine whilst others enjoy gentle shading from the leaf canopy of these magnificent oaks. Picnic benches are arranged around the site for eating al-fresco and are ideal for picnics & barbecues.


Friendly Dogs are welcome, on leads.

The newly refurbished and extended modern single amenity block is clean with free hot water, hand basins, shaver points, hand & hairdryer and laundry facilities plus both hand washing and dishwashing sinks. We also have a disabled/ family bathroom.
Recycling and refuse bins, chemical disposal point and wastewater disposal are all nearby with freshwater taps dotted around the site.

The combined reception & small shop stocks most provisions and displays local information/ leaflets on the many local attractions. We stock local produce e.g free-range eggs, bacon, sausages, honey, bread & cakes, milk. Camping Gaz and Calor Gas and Freezer packs are also available. The historic town of Chard is only 2 miles away (the birthplace of powered flight).

With 3 different customs and traditions of the 3 adjoining counties of South Somerset, Dorset & Devon there is plenty to see & enjoy. 
The South Coast, Lyme Regis, is only 20 minutes away with its famous & picturesque Cobb, beach and world-renowned fossil beaches.
Cricket St. Thomas Wildlife Park is only 2 miles away offering a superb wildlife experience to all the family.
Forde Abbey (one of the top 10 gardens in the country) is only 2.5 miles away and in the summer, fruit picking is not to be missed. 
At the beach resort of Seaton (25 minutes away) is a tramway.
Also nearby is the National Trust Montacute House.
And for adventure, Diggerland offers a real JCB experience.

For cyclists, either follow the level cycle network path to Illminster or for the fit & healthy perhaps try the 80 miles South Somerset circular cycle route which travels past the campsite.

For walkers & dog owners, a public footpath on the Eastern boundary of the Camping & Caravanning site runs North towards Chard Reservoir Nature Reserve, where fishing permits are available, and South towards Perry Street and the nearest pub just over 1 mile away for good food & drink. In reception two circular walks from the campsite enjoy different scenery and easy enough for the smaller family members.

Golf is available at the nearby Wind Whistle Golf Club (2 miles) with both greens & driving range.
Horse riding (approx 5 miles) for beginners to jockeys.
Other nearby activities include tennis, cinema, boat trips and a lot more.

Alpine Grove Touring Park

We currently have 2 Mobile Homes having sea views, with small enclosed lawns ideal for small children and pets, to let on a small campsite ideal for children with plenty of space to play.  We have sites for several touring caravans and motorhomes, with electricity hook-up points and plenty of space for camping.

The campsite is on a farm in a rural position, yet only approximately one and a half miles from the beach and the Jurassic Coast, acclaimed as an area of outstanding natural beauty. We keep a small flock of sheep and the lambs are a delight to see in the Spring.  We have a herd of Exmoor ponies, which foal in May and there are geese, a variety of chickens and two goats.  There is an assortment of wildlife in the fields and hedgerows, not to mention an abundance of birds. There is a good bus service about 5 min walk along the lane. X53 service goes from Exeter to Bournemouth 2 hourly.

Coombe View Farm

Somerset Yurts is a fantastic eco-friendly retreat nestled on a working Dairy Farm in the beautiful Quantock Hills. Providing stunning accommodation, our yurts allow couples and families to get back to nature while enjoying a tranquil break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Kids can run free and explore the 2-acre yurt field, and can come and meet the dairy herd to see where milk comes from!

The yurts are a great way for families to get out into the countryside camping while having lots of space, and comfort!

Somerset Yurts

With fabulous views of the Lym Valley, Hook Farm is a campers’ heaven. 

We have no club, no disco and no main road nearby so peace and tranquillity abound! 

This very natural and unregimented park is a great base for the beach and town facilities of Lyme Regis (1 mile via leafy river walk) and the fantastic attractions of Devon and Dorset. 
A wide variety of walks catering for everyone’s needs are immediately accessible from the park e.g. the stunning South West Coastal Footpath and the East Devon Way. 

Dogs are welcome and a dog walking area (a cider apple orchard) is provided. For a relaxing evening, the village pub is only 400 yards away!

Modern shower and toilet facilities are provided and a small shop for everyday needs.

Old Bidlake Farm is a smallholding situated in West Dorset, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty known as the Marshwood Vale, three miles from the dramatic Jurassic Coast. 
Four classic Bell Tents tents, sit sheltered by hedges and wildflowers in a one-acre section of pasture field, with backdrop views of Pilsdon Pen, Colmers and Lewesdon Hills. A one minute stroll through the orchard leads you to the shower block and communal kitchen. 
There is plenty of space for children to run free, ride bikes or go pony trekking at the riding stables next door whilst you sit back and unwind. 
The experience we offer at Old Bidlake Farm is unashamedly Real Camping. Our approach is driven by happy memories of our own summer camping trips and the request from Jack (now 32, then aged 8!) that camping should be ‘As least like home as possible’ is forever ringing in our ears.
So over the last few seasons, we have striven to create what we would consider being the perfect camping escape, with everything here ready for you so you don’t need a gigantic 4x4 and trailer to make it happen. A beautiful and spacious canvas tent, comfortable beds, all the cooking equipment you could need, cool stoves to cook upon and all situated in a peaceful rural setting with plenty of space and not too many other campers!
