Cheddar Mendip Heights
Cheddar Mendip Heights is just down the road from Cheddar Gorge in the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
This is a relatively small campsite, with a limited number of hard-standing pitches, but has many grass pitches with electric hook-up if required.
Some pitches are on a slope.
Our Review
The Cheddar Mendip Heights is in a rural location in the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
This campsite is just up the road from Cheddar Gorge - so much so - that if you have a caravan, please make sure you read the directions. Otherwise, you'll be towing through the narrow gorge!
Being a rural location, you might not get much (or any), mobile reception. However, WiFi access is available to buy at the campsite's reception.
Cheddar Mendip Heights is not a large campsite. It has a few hardstanding pitches, and many more grass pitches, and plenty with electric hook-ups if you need it.
Being in rolling hills, quite a few of the pitches are on a slope.
We enjoyed an Easter weekend at the campsite. There are lots of things to keep the family occupied in the area. We visited Cheddar Gorge and the Caves, Glastonbury Tor, went on the West Somerset Railway and visited Weston-super-mare. Not bad for a long weekend!
Top Tip: you can get much cheaper attraction tickets from the campsite's reception.

You can hire static caravans at this campsite.

There is a play park at this campsite.
