Brow Farm in the Shropshire Hills
Brow Farm is nestled in the small village of Ratlinghope, which is nestled in a valley within the Long Mynd hills Shropshire: an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Brow Farm is a back-to-basics campsite, with a massive 12-acre camping field, and campfires allowed as long as they are off the ground. Although mainly used by tent campers, caravans and motorhomes are welcome, although there are no hardstanding pitches. As the campsite is so large, booking isn't required. Wooden lodges are also available if you don't want to bring your own tent.
Our Review
Brow Farm is a local campsite to us, and somewhere we visit at least once a year.
Unless there is a big group, such as a Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition, then the campsite is not usually that busy. Even when it is, there is enough space to find a quiet corner.
Being in the Long Mynd hills, there are lots of walks and cycling right on the doorstep.
A ten-minute walk from the campsite you'll find the Bridges Inn, which is a friendly traditional country pub. We've always had excellent meals there.
The facilities at the campsite are simple but not as basic as some campsites.
It's a place we keep returning too. It gets the Thumbs Up from us.
