Aberafon Campsite
Aberafon campsite sits on the North Wales coast on the Llyn Peninsula, between Caernarfon and Pwllheli, with direct access to the beach.
Note: Due to restricted access, Aberafon campsite cannot accommodate Caravans or Motorhomes over 7.5 Metres.

Our Review
We spent a blustery but enjoyable few days there in early May 2015.
One of the great things about Aberafon campsite is that it is right next to the beach, and not only that, you can have campfires down on the beach.

Unfortunately, by the time we got around to having a campfire on the beach (due to heavy rain the day before), we had almost exhausted all our food supplies and there wasn't much left we could cook. We improvised though ;-)
Camping Fields at Aberafon
There are a number of different camping fields at Aberafon.
You can pitch right next to the beach (note that some camping fields have fenced off cliffs), or you could stay in a more sheltered location further inland, nestled between trees and next to a gentle running stream.
Toilets and Showers
Toilet facilities are available across the campsite, along with freshwater.
Aberafon Shower Block
Showers were at the inland camping fields. When we visited it was 20p for 3 minutes.
Campfires and BBQs
Toasting Marshmallows on the Beach
You can have BBQs if raised off the ground, but no campfires on the campsite itself. However, campfires can be had down on the beach. You can purchase wood from the campsite, which was reasonably priced at £3 for a large bag when we visited.
For the Kids

There's a small play park too, though kids also like scrambling up the hill and hiding in the woods.
Tea Break behind the Wind Break
Watch out for the friendly goat too.
There are a few rock pools on the beach, and plenty of stones to build stone walls. Not much in the way of sand though.
There are cliff edges at the campsite. These are fenced off.
Boat Launch
In addition to being by the beach, there's a boat launch into the sea that's accessed straight from Aberafon campsite.
