Holme Pierrepont Country Park is home to The National Water Sports Centre.
As well as having its fair share of watersports, there are plenty of other activities for families. 
You could just take a stroll or bike ride around the huge Regatta Lake (as featured on the London Olympics) or you could have a go at some high ropes, segways, and even some laser e-combat.

Robin Hood would approve of this Go Ape in Sherwood Forest, which has 3000 acres of woodland.

The Tree Top Adventure contains a 140 metres zip wire and the total course is 909 metres long.

If you’re not too keen on the heights, you can also try the Forest Segways, and scoot around firmly on the forest floor.

Plus, you can make a day of it, as there are walking routes and cycle rides. If you don't have your bikes, some can be hired.
There's also a cafe, a play park, and a picnic area.

Teversal Campsite is run by the Camping and Caravanning Club*, right next to the Silverhill Wood Country Park with the Teversal Trails for cycling or walking.
If you can't bring your own bikes, don't worry. You can hire bikes at the campsite (from £6 per hour to £15 per day).

As well as tents, motorhomes, and caravans, the Teversal campsite also has Safari Tents for a bit of glamping, and if they don't take your fancy, there is also a Log Cabin and a holiday caravan.

*Note: you don't have to be a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club to visit Teversal, though taking out membership will give you a discount at many campsites.
