Our Review
We joined iSurf at Compton Bay for a two-hour surf lesson.
I wasn't aware that the Isle of Wight had surf, but they do, and the waves were coming in good at Compton-under-cliff Beach.

Compton Bay on the Isle of Wight is a good spot for surfing.
Our instructors, Baz and Harry, were very good. The lesson started on the sand with the basic manoeuvres, and then we were soon in the surf trying to put the theory into practice. Baz and Harry were on hand to give plenty of tuition.

I think I was more in the water than out!
Although I've done plenty of bodyboarding and stand-up paddleboarding, I found surfing a little bit more difficult and spent much of the time falling off and in the water.
In the end, I managed to get up onto my knees, but that's cheating, and I should have been on my feet!

Kneeling on the board is cheating. However, this was the best I managed in my first lesson.
Fortunately for our kids, they picked it up quickly.

The kids did much better than their parents!

We really enjoyed our surf lesson, and had huge smiles, despite some of us taking repeated spills into the water! The instructors were great and gave plenty of time to everyone. We gladly give iSurf the thumbs-up.
