Located in Ironbridge near Telford, Shropshire Raft Tours runs family trips for children of all ages on the River Severn up to 5 times a day. 
We have seasonal events such as our river Easter egg hunt, search for the river gnomes and our fancy dress Halloween river trips. Our trips from the start, meeting at our kiosk in the Wharfage car park (TF8 7NH), the river trip and shuttle back to the kiosk will take 2 hours.

RAF Cosford, A great day out in Shropshire

The <a title="RAF Cosford, Shropshire" href="http://www.rafmuseum.org" target="_blank">RAF Museum in Cosford</a>, Shropshire, is a great family day out - especially if you have plane mad kid!

Attingham Park, Shropshire

Attingham Park, just outside Shrewsbury in Shropshire, is another well run <a title="The National Trust" href="http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=3795&amp;id=128419&amp;platform=cs" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">National Trust</a> property that is a favourite with familes.



## Attingham House

With its big columns, state rooms, library, kitchen, safe with treasures, bedrooms, orangery, lots of stairs, and a gallery, the main house at Attingham Park is well worth a visit, especially on days when they dress up.  Children's quizzes are often available.


Outside and to the back of the house is the cafe 😉

## Attingham Deer Park and Grounds

The grounds are open all year, and are massive.


Attingham Park has a very large deer park.  It is believed these deer are descendants of the wild deer that were in the area when the park was fenced in.


The park spans the River Tern, and you can walk through the formal grounds and into the deer park (areas are off limits though, in order to protect the deer).  Deer park tours are also available on certain dates through out the year.


As well as the open expanse of land, Attingham has large woodland and an opportunity for kids to make dens and get muddy.


Watch out for forest sculptures that often appear through out the year.  You can also go into an old ice house (can't wait to do that for the late night halloween 'spooky walk' they have this year).


If you just wish to go into the grounds and not the house then the entrance price is less.

## Children's Activities at Attingham Park

Attingham Park puts on children's trails and activities, normally during holidays.


These often start at the old stable block, which is the main entrance by the car park.


There's also another cafe here and usually a few games or toys.


Further round the grounds, towards the walled garden (which is signposted) is a new play park.  This is the largest one yet we've seen at a National Trust property, and looks more like a community sports field.

## Home Farm

Towards the exit of Attingham Park is Home Farm.


This is a separate admission to the the park or house.


Here kids can see the rare bread cattle, pigs, and poultry in the farm that is run on the estate.



Attingham Park

Attingham Camp is a one-night-only campsite that runs every May at National Trust's Attingham Park in Shropshire.
This year, the camp is being held on Saturday 23rd May 2020.

Based on the borders of Staffordshire and Shropshire our woodlands provides a great base to come and enjoy your Stone Age sessions.

Outback2Basics provides Stone Age Schools, Prehistory, Stone age education, Year 3, School Trips, Education, Caveman, Classroom, Clay Pots, Stone Tools, Crafting, Cave Painting.

They run Bushcraft and survival skills courses throughout the year, including Family days and weekends, kids courses and lots more. Get the kids and adults outside to learn about nature, make fires and build dens. Learn about the wild foods and cook around a camp fire.
Stay out overnight with the family and watch for shooting stars. Or leave the kids with us and let them discover their wild side.

Outback2Basics

Comer Woods is part of the National Trust Dudmaston Estate just outside the historic Shropshire town of Bridgenorth. 
Trails crisscross Comer Woods, which now includes a shared-use Explorer trail that's ideal for family walks or traffic-free bike rides.
