Go Ape in London? Yep. It’s just a ten-minute walk from Cockfosters tube station on the Piccadilly Line.

The famous Go Ape Treetop Challenge has the longest and fastest zip wire in London, plus two big Tarzan Swings.

This is the summit of Highwood Hill, which is part of the Greater London 3 Peaks Hiking Challenge. Yes, a 3 peak challenge in Greater London.
Unfortunately, the peak of 146 m above sea level, is within a farmers field.  However, there is a public footpath you can take that gets you very close to it, which is good enough to bag this high point of Greater London.

This is the summit of Arkley, which is part of the Greater London 3 Peaks Hiking Challenge.
Ok, so Greater Londer isn't known for a 'three peaks challenge'. Mountains aren't in great supply in London.
However, this is one of the high points, even though you can bag this summit from the road!

Go Ape in central London!

The Woodland Nursery is an exciting new outdoor nursery for 2½ to 5-year-olds based on the Forest School approach. The nursery is based in local woodland in South East London and will offer your child a unique outdoor education, experience and a whole bucket load of fun.

Family Forest School takes place in Oxleas Woods every Saturday in 6 weekly blocks. It's a place for you and your child to learn in a fun and creative way.
There are public toilets a cafe and free car parking close to the site.

This is the summit of Sanderstead Plantation, which is part of the Greater London 3 Peaks Hiking Challenge.
Sanderstead Plantation is one of the 'summits' in Greater London.
You can get to this 'high point', of 175 metres above sea-level, by walking down the footpath. ;-)

Go Ape at Black Park is an excellent place to take the kids. 
With a massive Nets Adventure and child-friendly Treetop Adventures, this place should keep the kids busy. 
But if that's not enough, you can go on a family bike ride through the forest. And if you can't bring your bikes with you, you can hire some there.
