Baby Lemurs at the West Midlands Safari Park

April 27, 2014

It was a nice surprise to see some baby lemurs when we visited the West Midlands Safari Park.

We’ve just got back from a fab day out at the West Midlands Safari Park (read our guide to getting the most out of tour visit to WMSP).

New Baby Lemur
It’s been a while since we’ve visited and noticed a couple of changes. There were also some small additions: baby ring-tailed lemurs that were born just days before we visited.

Cling to Mum

Mum suns herself whilst another cleans baby
The baby lemurs were really tiny and just wanted to cling to their mother.

Lots of baby sitters for baby lemurs!

It was also interesting to see how communal the lemurs were, with others lemurs only too keen to groom the new babies.

Psst, they're watching you
At one point one of the mums moved to a sunny position so that she should sunbathe whilst another one of the troop washed her baby.

Watching the lemurs sunbathe was quite comical.

Lemur Ball
And when the sun disappeared, the lemurs huddled together to keep themselves warm.
