The Coleman Vail 6L is a smart-looking, large family tent that's ideal for family holidays where you want a tent with plenty of space.
If you have more than two kids, a tent of this size will be ideal. But even with two older kids who don't want to share, or you want lots of space, this is a fantastic size.
It comes in at a lower price than some other tents of this size. It has fewer features than the Coleman Castle Pines 6L but still has many great aspects, such as a 4000mm hydrostatic head, built-in porch, and a no-trip entrance.
PROS:
- Great size for larger families or family camping holidays.
- Built-in porch.
- No-trip entrance.
CONS:
- It has great features, but if you want more like Coleman BlackOut bedrooms and mesh to make your tent bug free, look at the Coleman Meadowood 6L or Coleman Castle Pines 6L.
If you are on a tighter budget, only have one or two kids, and want to get away camping at the weekends, the Coleman Aspen 4 is well worth considering. While it might not have quite as many features as some other tents in the Coleman range, it does come with features not normally found in this price bracket, such as a 4000 mm hydrostatic head, no trip entrance, and a wind test rating of seven on the Beaufort Scale.

If you are on a tighter budget, only have one or two kids, and want to get away camping at the weekends, the Coleman Aspen 4 is well worth considering.
It may not have all of the features of some more expensive tents in the Coleman range, but it still packs some features you don't normally see in this price bracket.
PROS:
- Lay-flat no-trip groundsheet at the large tent door so you don't trip going into the tent.
- 4000 mm hydrostatic head. Most tents in this price bracket only have 3000mm.
- Small shelter on the front of the tent makes it easier to get in and out of the tent if the weather isn't as good.
- Darkened bedrooms for a better night's sleep.
CONS:
- Ideal for weekend camping. If you want to stay longer, such as several nights for a family holiday, we recommend looking at the slightly larger Coleman Aspen 4L.
- If you want features like mesh to keep the bugs out, look at the Coleman Meadowood 4.
