Dress like Bear Grylls

April 9, 2014

I should imagine most people know who Bear Grylls is, even if they’re not into the outdoors.  Ex-SAS special forces, explorer and adventurer, and with a string of successful TV shows, such as Man vs. Wild/Born Survivor, Ultimate Survival, and a number of great books.

If you’ve watched any of those shows, you’ll see him put through his paces in extreme environments and situations.  His gear takes some punishment, but forms a key part of his survival.

Well, Bear has teamed up with Craghoppers to create a range of clothing.

Survivor Trousers

In many episodes you’ll see Bear scrambling around in a pair of trousers with patches on the knees and backside.

These patches provide re-enforcement against scrapes that would tear a lot of out door gear.  They are are ideal for scrambling down hills on your backside!

As with most outdoor clothing, there are pockets a plenty (2 of them with zips).

Quick drying as well.  Even if you’re not in a survival situation, you’d be better wearing these on the hills than jeans.

Adventure Shirt

When traversing jungle or the dry heat of the dessert, you’ll usually see bear in a shirt.

Check out the [product_link post_id=”22343″ text=”Bear Adventure Long-Sleeved Shirt”].

This is not an ordinary shirt.  It has built in moisture wicking, SPF 40+ protection from the sun, ripstop nylon,  two zipped pockets (one a hidden passport pocket), and a useful extra flap on the collar so you don’t burn your neck!

It looks good too.

Bear Grylls Adventure Shirt. Note the keep cool mesh inside.

Note the large front zipped pocket. Open up to keep cool.

Two vents hidden on the back of the shirt help you keep cool.
