Monster Hunting!

April 27, 2012

“Where are we going today dad?”

“We’re going to search for a monster!”

If you’re in the Loch Ness region then there’s nothing quite like the hunt for the mysterious Nessie to stir the kids’ imaginations.

Just off the shore of Loch Ness is the village of Drumnadrochit where the Loch Ness Centre and Monster Exhibition is based.Get Out With The Kids - Reviewed

The Exhibition guides you through all the legends of the monster, the many alleged sightings, and the failed attempts to find Nessie.  It also digs into the geology of the region.

Whether you believe in the monster or not, if you haven’t been to Loch Ness before you’re in for a surprise.  This isn’t some little lake with a quaint monster story – Loch Ness is more of an inland sea, and something quite spectacular in the small British Isles.

So does the monster exist?

Having sailed on Loch Ness a few times, I personally don’t think much can live in those dark peat filled waters…. however….

Just keep your eyes peeled and camera at the ready just in case.

A good vantage point to look out for Nessie is the near by Urquhart Castle.

  1. Hi there, great informative website. However I would like to point out that the Exhibition hasn’t been called The Loch Ness Monster Exhibition for several years now.
It is called The Loch Ness Center & Exhibition. We cater for the area and the beauty of this land as well as informing others about the search for “Nessie” and the highs and lows of such a search.
We also have only original and genuine artifacts in the Exhibition such as Machan, which was the worlds smallest submersible at the time , as well as cameras, equipment and even the John Murray itself a record breaker (Largest Inflatable ).
Refurbishment of several rooms is taking place right now and several new exhibits and attractions are being fitted, so please visit this summer and take a look then let us know what you think.
