Plas Newydd, Anglesey – Photo Necrothesp, CC 3.0
Plas Newydd is situated on the shores of the Menai Straits in Anglesey.
Formerly the home of the Marquess of Anglesey, it is now run by the National Trust.
Whilst tours of the house are available (and there’s a family activities room), we particularly found the gardens a good visit. These stretched for miles of foot path into woods, with exotic plans, some of which are quite strange and large.
A great place for young explorer’s and a brilliant spot for picnics.
Keep an eye on the time though – the gates close relatively early (we nearly didn’t make it out!).
