As with many of the Treasure Houses, there’s a lot more to see and do than just the house.
The Farm Experience and Bird Garden
Harewood has a Bird Garden and Farm Experience for the children, including a minibeast trail.
As well as the birds in the garden, Harewood has plenty of Red Kites flying around too.
At the heart of the grounds is the huge man-made lake, with a number of walks around it, and plenty of places to stop and take in the view or have a picnic.
The Himalayan Garden had a number of features, including some large stepping stones that we all found great fun.
The Walled Garden
Further around the lake is the Walled Garden.
There wasn’t much in season when we visited, but there was an impressive show of tulips.
The Courtyard and House
Back towards the house is the Courtyard. Here you can find some other kids activities that may be running, as well as something to eat.
When we visited there was a wood fired pizza oven cooking fresh hot pizzas…which went down well 🙂
The house itself was split into a Below Stairs and State Floor areas to look at.
When we visited, the small building by the car park had a Lego version of Harewood house. Something to see if your kids are Lego fans!
The Adventure Park
Just outside the Courtyard is an adventure playground. Somewhere for the kids to burn off some energy!
