RSPB Ribble Discovery Centre

RSPB Ribble Discovery Centre

Come to our free visitor centre on the edge of Fairhaven Lake. It’s the gateway to the north side of the Ribble Estuary – the third most important estuary in the UK – which attracts over 250,000 birds each year. We are on an amenity lake so try your hand at feeding the ducks, driving a boat or playing on the new play park.

You’ll get good views of the estuary nearby and the lake itself attracts wintering ducks. The centre is open all year round and has a full programme of events from guided bird walks, mud dipping and monthly toddler group. Fairhaven Lake has a new arts trail and regularly changing family trails are available at the centre to keep the little ones entertained as you stroll around the lake. The site is pram- and wheelchair-friendly, popular with dog walkers and has toilet and cafe facilities.
