A great day out above and under ground.
You start at Wookey Hole by entering the very impressive caves. A very good guided tour is provided.
The Witch of Wookey Hole
The caves have been occupied by humans since the Stone Age, however they are more famously known for the witch that used to live there. A tall story? They have a skeleton that was found in the caves, complete with crystal ball!
It’s not all about the caves
Exiting the caves you walk through a land of dinosaurs and enter the old paper mill.
One of the main attractions is their circus show. This is excellent. When we were there the show times were 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm. Queues can build up so recommend you get there early.
Wookey is very near the city of Wells. Put BA5 1BA into your Sat Nav.
Why not stay overnight?
No, not in the caves. Wookey Hole now has a hotel with great combined accommodation and ticket price. Stay and see the caves and visit the many other attractions in the area.
