As part of the 2015 National Go Canoeing Challenge, we did a three mile circuit of Windermere with gear and directions from Windermere Canoe Kayak.
You can hire canoes, kayaks, and SUPS (and bikes too) from them, including wet suits if required.
If you are an experienced paddler this will certainly save you having to take your gear with you to Windermere. If you’ve never paddled before, Windermere Canoe Kayak can provide tuition and guided tours too.
Paddling on Windermere
The scenery on Windermere is stunning.
Did you know Windermere has islands?
You can paddle your canoe to one of them and stop off. Why not do your own Swallows and Amazons, and take your family on a picnic to an island in Windermere.
Here’s a video of us paddling Windermere as part of the National Go Canoeing Week challenge.
