Winter camping brings on a special set of challenges. Yes, not only is it cold, but the ground is usually damp, wet, or even, frozen or covered in snow.
You will also need to change the gas in your camping stove (from butane to propane or liquid fuels), as when the needle hits the cold temperatures, you could find yourself without the ability to make warm food and drink.
These are all challenges that can be overcome. Are you up for the challenge? Take your family camping in winter and post a photo below to get the Winter Camping badge.

- You’ll want to get four-season sleeping bags (see our reviews of some 4-Season sleeping bags here)
- Make sure you know how to keep warm in your tent (see our tips here for keeping warm), including insulating well underneath everyone’s sleeping bag. This will greatly help keep warm at night.
