The Treasure Hunt is a classic game that you can do outdoors or even where you live. Although very similar to Geocaching, this activity gets your kids using maps and their eyes instead of electronic gadgets to navigate.
Pirates and Kids
Most kids aren’t that old before they recognise a pirate’s treasure map, where “X marks the spot”.
In this activity, you are going to create your own treasure map, or even, multiple treasure maps.
Why? Well, this simple activity starts to help your kids recognise what is on a map with what is around them.

Making your Treasure Hunt
The simplest treasure hunt is to create a simple map with a prize where X marks the spot.
However, if that’s too easy for your kids or your kids have quickly got the hang of it, you could make it a little more challenging.
Instead of just one Treasure Map, make a few. The prize at the end of the first treasure map includes a map to the next prize.
You can get as creative with this as you like. 🙂
