We’ve just returned from the annual camping and outdoor trade shows that happen in September, where a great many manufacturer’s show off what they are working on for 2014.
Every September there are a couple of important shows for the outdoor industry, where many different manufacturers present to retailers and press (and a few websites like us), what’s new in their ranges for 2014.
Not all of the product details are finalised yet, but what we were shown is good news for family campers and for families getting out with their kids.
From a number of tent manufacturers the innovation has continued. More air framed tents will be available in 2014, as well as the growing popularity of poly-cotton. However, manufacturer’s have also been working hard on making this great technology more affordable. We look forward to seeing the final tents and prices in 2014.
Seeing so many different tents from many manufacturers enabled us to really inspect and see where they have really taken family camping on-board, and which tents we will recommend in 2014.
There’s going to be a lot of choice, and we have some firm favourites…but you’ll have to wait and see until next year when they start becoming available 😉
There’s been a lot of innovation in family camping accessories too, with some fantastic time savers and problem solvers. We saw some good stuff coming from all the main brands, as well as some neat new products from some smaller manufacturers.
Again, we’ll bring you details as and when they become available.
It’s not all about camping though. We saw some great new innovative products for families. There are some new items coming out that are great for travel and days out, as well as some big moves forwards in children’s outdoor clothing.
Too often kids outdoor clothing doesn’t have all the features you find in adults clothing, and are just made to look like the part. As you know, these can leak at the seams and are just not up to the job – and a cold/wet child is not going to be happy when you are out and about. Fortunately some manufacturer’s have realised this and have created some proper outdoor clothing for kids.
We’ll bring you the details soon, so watch this space…
Sneak Peak of Outwell 2014 Tents
I was fortunate enough to be invited to Outwell’s trade show last weekend where they unveiled their new 2014 range of family tents and accessories.
Outwell have really put in some thought to make family camping easier. There were some great designs and innovation.
It was also good to see that they’ve extended their collections and made them more accessible to more people’s pockets.
Final design details are still being finalised, and prices have yet to be announced, but until then here’s a video from Outwell giving a sneak peak at their new 2014 collections.
Also at the show was Easy Camp and Robens, and some new ranges and improvements made for 2014.
Oase, the company behind Outwell, Easy Camp, and Robens, let me have a good look round at all the tents and accessories, and I’ve got an armful of notes of some great things for next year’s camping season. 😉
We’ve started adding the 2014 tent ranges to the The Family Tent Guide.
