First Test Pitch of the Easy Camp Match Air 500 Tent
Time to test out another tent at home during the COVID-19 lock down. This time it’s
the Easy Camp Match Air 500.
This was a tent I saw at
the 2020 season launch that I thought looked a really good family tent, especially with the large practical porch on the front. Fortunately, Easy Camp agreed to send me one over to get a closer hands-on review.
Pitching was really easy, and I was really impressed with some great features. Though, as expected, the bedrooms were a little small for a family of 5 to use comfortably.
The Easy Camp Match Air 500 is a great tent for a family of four, with darkened bedrooms, plenty of living space, and a built-in porch.
Putting large sleeping mats in the bedroom eats up space. You couldn’t get 5 in the bedroom with large mats like these. This side of the tent is ideal for chairs and storage as it has no door. Opening the side door soon helped cool the tent down in the warm sunshine. The porch gives the Easy Camp Match Air 500 a really practical design. The Porch on the Match Air 500 makes an ideal place for cooking. Just keep any stove away from the tent material, of course. There’s enough room both sides of the porch for tables, The groundsheet can be untoggled so it lays flat at the doors. The tent has these hidden pockets for stowing the guy lines when packing away. With furniture inside you get a better idea of the space. The Easy Camp Match Air 500 only has one tent pole, which slides in to support the front porch. The tent carpet, rolled up and ready for fitting The pump screws onto the valve. This is great idea. The hand pump feels really good and sturdy. It screws onto the valves, which I like. Inside the tent bag is the tent (of course!), a tent pole for the porch, tent pegs, and the pump. The tent in its bag. And yes, I did manage to get the tent back in its bag, along with the carpet and pump.
