Dinas Caravan Park, Camping and Glamping

GOWTK Review of Dinas Campsite

Dinas is a hidden gem of campsite in the Snowdonia hills.

We stayed there for three nights during Easter 2014 and had a fantastic time. There was no need to drive anywhere else; there was enough to keep everyone busy on and around the campsite.

Firstly, if you are familiar with popular campsites like Shell Island and Nantcol Waterfalls in the area, this is just a little further up in the hills than Nantcol. It’s a slightly smaller campsite than Nantcol, and all the better for it.

You get a really warm welcome from the owner and a level of service you don’t find at larger campsites. She will even deliver firewood to where you’re camping.

There’s lots of walks in the area, including an impressive climb up to Dinas Rock that looks down on the campsite. The owner has put together a lot of leaflets with details of walks in the area.

The campsite also boasts a small lake, complete with a Canadian canoe that you can hire. You can bring your own inflatable boats too. We used both 😉

One of the big attractions our kids found with this campsite is all the rope swings that are provided.

We stayed in the lower field which is next to a small wood. It must have had every child staying on the campsite in there at one point.

So be prepared for some muddy clothes and visit Dinas Campsite. It gets a thumbs up from us.

P.S. If you’re not wanting to stay in a tent then you can also hire caravans….or better still, glamp it up in style. You can stay in a luxurious bell tent complete with wood burning hot tub!

Planning on visiting Dinas Caravan Park, Camping and Glamping? Details below.

Dinas Caravan Park is a small friendly site with only 8 static caravans, 30 camping pitches and two glamping bell tents tucked away in the foothills of the Rhinog mountains but just over three miles to some fabulous beaches.

Kids love the tree swings; building dens in the woods or dams in the stream, cycling around the campsite and along the quiet lane to a large Lake at the end of the valley. We also have a Canadian canoe for hire on our small lake or you may bring your own inflatable.

Campers usually pitch around the perimeter of the upper field leaving a large open space in the middle for ball games, flying kites or throwing a frisbee. Parents can join in or watch their children enjoying the freedom, fresh air and open space.

A walk to the top of The Rock is a must do or take advantage of our walking leaflets to Peacock farm, Nantcol waterfalls, the Pub walk to Llanbedr village and the Ice cream walk to Harelch. There is a fantastic choice of days out from spending the day collecting shells and building sand castles at a choice of glorious sandy beaches or visiting Harlech Castle just three miles away and much, much more.
